Discover the truth concerning bulimia and eating disorders. Eating Disorders are unhealthy and be very destructive. About 10% of individuals suffering from bulimia will die from either starvation, cardiac arrest, other medical complications, or suicide. We at The Center for Counseling & Health Resources, Inc. believe there is hope for those who suffer with an eating disorder.
About 90% of those affected by bulimia are women. Bulimia is characterized by episodes of binge-eating followed by inappropriate methods of weight control (purging). Individuals will control weight gain by vomiting, fasting, enemas, excessive use of laxatives and diuretics, or compulsive exercising. This cycle is repeated over and over again.
Go to our Information section to see if you have any other eating disorder symptoms. If you think that you or somebody else has several bulimia symptoms, The Center, Inc. can help you.
