When weekly counseling isn’t enough.

Some marriages need more than an hour a week. The Marriage Intensive at The Center is a concentrated, multi-day program for couples who want to do meaningful work together in a focused setting.

There is no fixed template. We work with each couple to design a program around their specific situation, whether they are recovering from a breach of trust, working through years of disconnection, or wanting to invest more deeply in their relationship.

Our Whole Person Care approach means looking beyond surface-level conflict to understand the deeper patterns and histories that shape how you relate to each other.

A strong marriage isn’t one without conflict — it’s one where both partners have the tools to move through it together.

More than outpatient.
Less than inpatient.
Fully focused on you.

Our Whole Person Care program bridges the gap between standard outpatient and inpatient treatment, offering full-day therapy six days a week with supportive local housing—including 4 individual therapy sessions per week with your dedicated licensed counselors.

It combines structure and intensity with personal responsibility outside program hours. Most clients stay 2 to 6 weeks, with some extending up to 8 weeks based on individual needs.

How the intensive unfolds

01

Step 1: Assessment

Individual and couple assessment. Mapping the patterns. Setting the goals you both share.

02

Step 2: The Work

The hard work — guided conversations, skills training, repair attempts, and rebuilding language for hard topics.

03

Step 3: Aftercare

A take-home plan and optional ongoing support so the gains made in the room continue at home.

We came in barely speaking. We left with tools we still use every day. The intensity of it — being away from home, fully focused — made all the difference.

A setting that supports the work.

Our Whole Person Care approach means we look beyond surface-level conflict. Licensed counselors and clinical providers work with both partners to understand the deeper patterns, histories, and needs that shape how you relate to each other.

The Center is located in Edmonds, Washington, a quiet waterfront town just north of Seattle. Stepping away from your regular environment into a calm, unhurried setting gives both partners the space to slow down and do real work together. Private hotel and Airbnb accommodations are available nearby, and we are happy to help coordinate your stay.
