For 30 years, The Center for Counseling and Health Resources in Edmonds, Washington has been a place of hope and healing for thousands of people. Although the hope and healing has remained a mission over these last few decades, much has changed and evolved.
As The Center continued to grow and expand its reach, it was important to Dr. Gregory Jantz and his team for the outward facing brand of The Center to authentically mirror the people and mission fueling the organization. After 30 years, we are therefore excited to unveil the new brand for The Center • A Place of HOPE!
The Brand Promise
The team charged with this rebranding endeavor spent many hours at The Center • A Place of HOPE interviewing the staff to uncover the true nature of the organization, its people and its mission. Additionally, they interviewed past alumni of The Center to learn about their experiences with the staff and treatment programs. After compiling and analyzing the data from these interviews, the research revealed that the uniqueness of The Center • A Place of HOPE is two fold—its multidisciplinary approach for whole-person care and its extraordinary work culture.
The pioneered vision of whole-person care, set forth 30 years ago by Dr. Gregory Jantz, drives an entire team of world-class professionals toward one common goal: helping people transform their lives for good.
At The Center • A Place of HOPE, this transformation goes beyond fixing symptoms, and instead focuses on healing the whole person. Through this multi-faceted healing process, people consistently find hope and regain purpose in their lives. The Center is the promising, optimistic force that provides options to those who feel they have no where else to turn.
The dominant, resonating experience that lives and breathes at The Center is HOPE. HOPE exists in the way the staff cares for patients. It is also consistently used to by clients to describe how they feel about their experience while receiving treatment at The Center • A Place of HOPE.
The Color Palette
Color can have a significant impact on people’s emotional state and influence their feelings about their surroundings. Selecting an appropriate color to communicate the feelings of HOPE, calmness, and healing was an important component of the overall brand.
The color palette is a mix of blue, green and orange all overlaid on a clean, white background. While it contains warm colors, this palette skews cooler, implying a more energetic, purposeful feel that supports the overall brand promise of The Center, which is HOPE.
The logo leads graphically with the brand promise, HOPE, first. Leading with the promise, is a bold testament to living the brand. It reinforces the outcome of the experience at The Center, placing it in the forefront of the mark.
The illustrative graphic treatment within the “O” reinforces the transformative experience that happens within the walls of The Center.
- It is whole – the circle reinforces the unified approach of whole-person care
- It has energy – the colors and shapes of the inner detail shows movement
- It is calm – the lines of the “O” and its details are graceful and smooth
- It is soaring – the inner detail looks like wings of transcendence
- It is collaborative – the inner details are shaped like a warm embrace, reinforcing the unique, collaborative experience between the staff and the client
Changing Lives for Good
Although visually pleasing, the importance of this new brand goes beyond the aesthetics. The mission of The Center • A Place of HOPE is to change lives for good—both for the better and permanently. As we look to the future, our goal as individuals and as a collective team is to constantly live this mission. This new brand therefore represents our continued dedication to healing, to hope and to changing lives for good.
