Tweets That Kill Careers (And People) [RADIO]

The recent rash of controversial tweets speaks to the increasingly blurred line between our online personas and our true selves. As a result, we can pay the real-life consequences of what we say there – from the Olympian suspended for a racist comment, to the journalist whose Twitter account was deleted on a technicality following opinionated tweets on NBC coverage of the Olympics. It is a powerful reminder to all of us that there is no hiding behind a computer screen. Looking for validation via social media? You got it! Everything you say online matters.
