The Center has a complete team of Mental Health, Medical and Chemical Dependency counselors available in our main branch in Edmonds. Mental Health services are available at all five locations (Edmonds, Everett, and Federal Way). Chemical dependency services are offered at Edmonds and Everett. Anxiety and Stress
With the fast pace society we live in, the stresses of jobs and families, and the violence that is throughout the world, individuals more and more are dealing with anxiety and stress. Our counseling staff is skilled at helping individuals to obtain the proper perspective regarding life's challenges. Attention Deficit Disorder
Recognition of the effects of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) on children and adults is growing in the mental health field. At The Center, our counseling professionals are able to help determine a diagnosis of ADD and ADHD, as well as provide practical suggestions and solutions on how to optimize life functioning.
Co-Dependency
We have several counselors that can help you with Co-Dependency issues. We also provide an On-line Boundaries Survey to help you determine if you may struggle with setting boundaries.
Depression
At The Center we have been able to help many who have experienced depression. Unlike other programs that emphasize medication, we have a strong emphasis on whole-person recovery. That means treating the emotional (psychological), intellectual, relational (relationships – past & present, family issues), physical (fitness), nutritional, and spiritual side of each person. Divorce & Separation
Many marriage vows include the words, "till death do us part." For many people, when spouses part it can seem like a death. At The Center, the wounded find help to restore their marriage bonds, whenever possible and appropriate. When divorce becomes a reality, our therapists provide compassion and support to the spouses and to their children. We assist people in picking up the pieces of their lives and help them build a stronger, healed tomorrow. We have counselors who are able to advocate for individuals and children during the court and dissolution process.
Domestic Violence
At The Center, our primary focus in cases of domestic violence rests with the victim and children. While we do not work with those convicted of level four or greater domestic violence, we are able to provide referrals. For those who have been victimized by domestic violence, The Center is a place of hope and healing, with caring professionals who have experience in helping people regain their lives and sense of self.

Eating Disorders
At The Center, we realize the debilitating impact that eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia, and compulsive overeating have in an individual's life. Whether you or someone you love is living a life feeling powerless over food related issues, we want to communicate to you that- There is Hope!
With over 21 years of experience working with literally thousands of individuals both male and female, we believe that lives being lived in bondage to eating disorders can experience freedom that is life changing and life enduring.
Our team approach to treating these issues includes individual and group counseling, as well as nutritional education, medical care by our staff physician (or for those who are currently working with a physician, we will gladly work in conjunction with them) and physical care based on each client's individual needs.

Emotional Abuse
Not all wounds are visible. The damage of emotional abuse shows the folly of that childhood rhyme: "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me." Words can wound and attitudes can devastate emotional well-being. Often overlooked, The Center recognizes the negative effects of emotional abuse and maintains a well-qualified staff of caring professionals who can help those damaged by emotional abuse to find healing and restoration.

Forgiveness
Those who hurt us have power over us, even long after the fact. At The Center, the hurt can learn to take back that power from the one who caused the injury, through a different power - the power of forgiveness. When you forgive another person, you agree to release the hurt. Through the framework of God's forgiveness to us and the example of Jesus, The Center is able to incorporate the power of spirituality in the healing process.

Grief & Loss
Those who suffer significant loss in their lives often feel as if a part of themselves has been ripped away. The hole that is left leaves them feeling overwhelmed, abandoned and, often, angry. At The Center, we understand the pain of bereavement and loss in life - at any age. We work with individuals to come to grips with the reality of the loss and support them in the healing process, seeking to support not push this process. Our counselors assist those whose loss is fresh and also those struggling with loss and abandonment issues from childhood.
Guilt
Few things can be as debilitating as guilt. We offer people a safe place to look at and evaluate important moments in their lives and find ways to deal with the guilt of past or present actions. In some cases, this guilt is not based upon the truth of their circumstances but on a false perception. Many people operate under false guilt, chained to it by the words and actions of the person truly responsible. At The Center, we help people free themselves from this burden of false guilt and learn to walk free of shame.
Marriage & Family
As a Christian-based counseling agency, The Center stands behind the bedrock foundations of marriage and the family. For some, however, this foundation has been weakened by situations and circumstances. We are privileged to help couples begin their lives together on a solid footing. For those who have been married for years but find room for greater love, respect and intimacy, The Center stands as a valued resource in the community. With branches in many local communities, The Center is able to provide pre-marital and marriage strengthening services, as well as work with families on parenting and child issues. We have several counselors who are child mental health specialists, as well as counselors who enjoy working with children of all ages.

Menopause Freedom
As we age, certain physical conditions are inevitable, but they needn't be debilitating. At The Center, we believe women can enter pre-menopause and menopause in a positive way, allowing this phase to enrich and enhance their lives, not act as a "beginning of the end." Through compassionate therapy and nutritional/medical support, women can free themselves of many of the negative emotional and physical effects of menopause and look forward to vibrancy and health in their mature years.
Ministry Burnout
Those involved in the caring professions, including ministers, pastors, lay leaders, elders and ministry leaders give so much of themselves every day. Often, they find they have little left over for themselves and their families. Discouraged and burned out, these vital servants need a time of reflection, restoration and renewal. With this in mind, The Center has designed a specialized Spiritual Renewal Program.

At The Center, we believe in treating the whole-person: emotionally, relationally, spiritually and physically. We believe in the positive mind-body connection and how a healthy body can positively contribute to emotional healing. In order to assist clients, we offer cutting-edge medical/nutritional counseling as well as specially formulated nutritional products for optimal health.

Parenting - Child/Adolescent
If children came with instruction manuals, we'd all still need help as parents! Raising children is unbelievably rewarding - and frustrating, at times. At The Center, we honor the family and work with parents on a variety of child-raising issues. With counselors of both genders and a variety of ages, we are able to provide children and teens a safe place to work through issues of maturing and adolescence, working with parents, extended family and school staff. As a valued resource in the communities we serve, The Center receives a high degree of referrals from doctors, social agencies and schools.
Sexual Addiction
You may have struggled with sexual addiction issues for years and feel like there is no solution to your problem. Here at The Center we want to let you know there is hope and help for you. Our Intensive Sexual Recovery Program is an intensive program designed to return an individual to a healthy sexual state, where sex is a fulfilling expression of affection and love.

Survivors of Sexual or Physical Abuse
Sexual and physical abuse is an horrific event in a person's life. At The Center, we recognize the courage it takes for a victim of abuse to face that abuse in order to heal and move beyond the pain. Our counselors take the utmost care to support victims of abuse in a caring, compassionate way, addressing not only the abuse itself but also the consequences of that abuse. Our goal is a restored life of optimism, hope and joy. Our goal is to help a person move from the identify of victim to victor.

Weight Loss
We provide out-patient counseling to individuals who desire to loss weight and to maintain weight loss. Our goal is to help you to loss weight in a healthy manner so that you experience permanent weight loss. Only 2% of those who go on diets to lose weight succeed in permanent weight loss. We have an Online Weight Loss Program titled "Thin for Life" that is a Whole-Person Approach to Weight Loss. We apply the principles found in many of Dr. Jantz books on Weight Loss and Eating Disorders. We have provided many interactive tools to help each client to be successful in their weight loss.
