anorexia-nervosa

Anorexia nervosa is a disease gripping many people today. Anorexia nervosa treatment begins with understanding and recognizing anorexia nervosa symptoms, admitting the problem and formulating a plan to aid in recovery. Anorexia nervosa and bulimia are eating disorders that can cause serious effects such as illness and death. Treating with a psychodynamic approach to understand the onset of the disease and help those suffering from it has been beneficial.

It is important to note that treatment of symptoms include both a medical and a psychological approach such as psychodynamic therapy. If the condition of anorexia nervosa and bulimia has persisted for more than six months effects of the eating disorder such as absent or irregular periods and loss of scalp hair might be present. If this disease goes untreated, and help for recovery is not sought then starvation could eventually cause organ failure and death.

People suffering from anorexia nervosa and bulimia will often not admit to needing treatment and will not seek help on their own. Recovery is difficult and sometimes, depending on the extremeness of the eating disorder and the symptoms present, hospitalization might be required. The psychodynamic approach to treatment delves into the cause in order to facilitate healing. If you or somebody you love suffers from the effects of this disease seek help immediately.

Ask Dr Jantz a questionAnorexia nervosa is deadly. Statistics show a growing number of people are starving themselves in order to lose weight. Eating disorder, including Anorexia nervosa and bulimia, treatments are often prescribed on a case-by-case basis. For some, a psychodynamic approach is most useful at finding the cause and starting on the road to recovery. If you or somebody you love is showing symptoms or suffering the effects of this illness, don’t wait any longer to seek help. It’s not too late. Contact us today!
